NYX Cosmetics 10 Color Eyeshadow Palettes

I have had these palettes for awhile now and I really like them. I know with most palettes there are hit and miss eyeshadows but honestly out of these 16 palettes there are like 3 shades that were miss. These have been discontinued from NYX as far as I can tell but they are still available here and here on Cherry Culture also ebay and amazon might have them. The majority of these shadows have a velvety texture and are super easy to blend, I had no issues with swatching them, (except for those 3 miss shades) and no issues with wearing them. They seem to wear well with no issues of creasing, of course I always use eye primer. There seems to be a variety of shades in most of these palettes including glitter, shimmer, satin and matte. The packaging is nice, a sleek black shiny plastic compact case that snaps shut and comes with a nice full size mirror and a dual tip eyeshadow applicator. These retail for around $8.00 each depending where you purchase them and the new Love in Paris eyeshadow palettes seem very similar to some of the 10 color palettes in this post but contain 9 shadows instead of 10. Ok On to the pictures!

Coastal Scents Hot Pots

Coastal Scents has to be one of my all time favorite makeup brands, I love their products and their prices! Awhile back they had a sale on their hot pots eyeshadow pans and I picked up a bunch of them. In this post I'll show you the colors I have and the cases available to put them in.

Their are a few options when it comes to cases for these, the one I do not have on hand is the Go Pod. It's just a single eyeshadow container similar to the single mac eyeshadow container. It is magnetic and a perfect fit for the single eyeshadow pans. The first one I have is the 4 piece interchangeable palette which is a nice sleek black plastic case with a nice full size mirror, it comes with a double ended eyeshadow applicator which isn't pictured because I rarely use those. Now this particular case is the hardest to use in my opinion because once the eyeshadow pans are in they are SO hard to get out. The best thing I have found to remove the eyeshadow pans from all of the Coastal Scents cases is the sharp pointed file on a pair of finger nail clippers. Also this is the only case with a clasp button you push to open the lid and is very similar to the go palettes if you are familiar with those.

Next is the 12 piece interchangeable palette this case seems very sturdy and also has a very nice full size mirror. Like the 4 piece palette, this one is also a little bit of a pain when it comes to getting the hot pots out. I did try to just use my finger to get them out at first but ended up scratching the eyeshadow this one seems to REALLY hold them in there. I just use the same method with the finger nail clipper file.

Last but not least is the 28 piece interchangeable palette this one has to be my favorite just because the eyeshadow pans are easy to get out. This case has no mirror and isn't made with the same hard plastic as the other 2 palettes and has a foam insert. Still it holds up just fine and I have 4 of them total.

Ok now on to the Hot Pots! I have 118 total and plan to get more, I can't say enough about the quality of these eyeshadows WOW! Amazing pigmentation, I haven't noticed any problems with fall out and they go on smooth. Available in matte, shimmer, and satin finishes there is bound to be something for everyone.

I have heard a lot of people ask if these palettes will hold mac eyeshadows, Coastal Scents claims they will fit but not magnetize.
