Coastal Scents Go Palettes

Today I have a review on the Coastal Scents Go Palettes. I picked up the set of 7 awhile back when they were on sale. These palettes are inspired by a certain country and contain 12 eyeshadows. These cost about $9.00 each and are available here. There are pros and cons with these, the packaging is nice it's the typical plastic packaging that most of the Coastal Scents palettes have. I have to say it's pretty durable as I have dropped them several times! These also contain a nice full size mirror. As for the eyeshadows themselves some are great, some are not so great. Some you have to really work at to get out, you may be able to tell from my swatches which are good and which aren't. I never use primer under any of my swatches.

Nuuk- The country is Greenland. This palette has very light shades and some of the shades even look similar. This is a great palette for highlighting but not for getting a variety of looks. All the shades in this palette are frosty/shimmer.

Sydney- The country is Austrailia. This palette definitely stands out from the rest, just look at those colors WOW! I think spring when I look at this palette, the looks seem pretty endless if you are into neons. All the shades in this palette are highly frosty/shimmer.

Moscow- The country is Russia. Another very colorful palette with which you can achieve endless looks. The jewel tones in this palette are beautiful. All the shades in this palette are highly frosty/shimmer with the exception of one glitter shade.

London- The country is England. I feel like this is another palette in which you could create a variety of looks with because unlike the previous three this one contains a variety of finishes. There are matte, shimmer and glitter shades.

Paris- The country is France. This palette seems to be pretty neutral with the exception of that bright blue! I am all for neutral palettes but this one has no matte shades only a few satin but mostly shimmer shades.

Cairo- The country is Egypt. This is my favorite of all of the 7 go palettes because it contains the most neutral shades. It also has a good variety of matte and shimmer but the mattes are a bit on the chalky side as you can tell by the swatches I really had to work at some of them.

Beijing- The country is China. This a berry toned palette, lots of shades of pinks and reds. The shades in this palette are satin and frosty/shimmer.

These palettes are great for travel and in most of them you can create different looks but the eyeshadows are really hit and miss. Will you be trying these?

  1. I just discovered your blog today while looking for reviews of the elf eyebrow kit! It's nice to see a blog centered around affordable products (and elf! Beauty bloggers just don't seem to like elf).

These palettes are super adorable. I think I like the Beijing one best because I prefer naturals and these have a little jazz to them with the reds.
I've hear of coastal scents before but I've never really looked at their products. Maybe I'll go check them out!

    1. Thanks for checking out my blog! I agree their aren't enough blogs centered around affordable beauty. I really like Coastal Scents and I think you'll be happy if you decide to purchase from them! They package everything super cute and usually give a bumper sticker and free eyeshdaow sample in your order.
