e.l.f Essential Loose Eyeshadow

The e.l.f essential loose eyeshadow is a fairly new product. I picked up one of each color, I was intrigued by the packaging. It's in a pen form with a spring loaded sponge tip applicator and the shadow is packed down in the screw on lid. You may need to swirl the applicator down in the lid to really pick up the eyeshadow.

e.l.f says: This silky fine powder eyeshadow creates an intense wash of color that is effortlessly beautiful. The portable, no-mess sponge applicator provides the perfect amount of powder with every use. Simply dip the sponge into the loose pigmented eyeshadow, apply to the eyelid and blend for gorgeous eye looks.

Ok now the eyeshadows are pretty pigmented and for $2 it seems like a pretty good buy. The second time I opened them the lids cracked down the side and won't go on so great anymore. The packaging is very cheaply made. The eyshadows themselves are nice in my opinion, very pigmented and they almost have a creamy feel to them. I have worn these on my lower lash line for a pop of color, the applicator makes it great for those hard to reach areas. As far as applying it all over your lid, it's possible of course but may take some time.

The brighter shades of these will be great for spring and summer but the packaging is just, well....terrible. If e.l.f would redo the packaging and make it a little more sturdy this would be a all around great product. Have you tried these? If so what are your thoughts?
